A Coney Island of the Mind

A Coney Island of the Mind was written by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and originally published in 1958. A Coney Island in the Mind is a book of poetry which was lyric form.  A couple of his pieces were written with intentions of a jazz accompaniment.

  1. Sounds like an interesting group of poems. I enjoyed the ones that we read in class, so I am sure there are some great ones in this book as well. The jazz aspect keeps appearing, it is definitely an influential factor for the Beat Movement.

  3. I agree with Shannon many Beats use music to help their poems. I think that makes thing harder, but songs are poems just being sing with music.
