A Coney Island of the Mind

A Coney Island of the Mind was written by Lawrence Ferlinghetti and originally published in 1958. A Coney Island in the Mind is a book of poetry which was lyric form.  A couple of his pieces were written with intentions of a jazz accompaniment. 

Lawrence Ferlinghetti

Lawrence Ferlinghetti was born in 1919.  His father passed away six months before his birth, and briefly after Ferlinghetti was born, his mother was committed to an Insane Asylum. He did not get into writing until he was in College, when he lived with his college mates in Maine, Lobster fishing.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Samantha Scarantino, and I am a senior at the college of Saint Rose.  I am taking Special Education/Elementary Education.  For this class I have the topic of  A Coney Island of the Mind by Lawrence Ferlinghetti!  I have some research to do, and I am hoping that every week I will have something new up about my topic.  As far as I know, A Coney Island of the Mind is a book of poetry.  On my Blog, you may find quotes from the book of poetry, as well as images, critical analysis, etc.  Please let me know of anything that you hope to view on my blog.
